Go Green! with the Greenman and the Muse.

For many years, Cernowain Greenman has been a consummate storyteller, professional speaker and dedicated musician. He has now boldly stepped onto the Pagan Music scene with a quiver full of mystical songs that awaken the spirit. Ranging from folk to rock to blues to vaudeville, “Cern” brings listening bliss to Pagans of all ages with his gifts of story and song.

Anaan Sapphira, the "Muse", is the duo's female vocalist and percussionist. Anaan brings her beautiful descants and background voice, along with drums and a variety of percussion, to complete this duo's special uplifting and enchanting sound.

The Greenman and the Muse have received praises and adulations from the fortunate souls with whom this sacred Man of the Forest has shared his melodious tunes:

Selena Fox: “Wonderful!”

Celia Farran: “Brilliant!”

Beltana Spellsinger: “Cern has a TON of soul.”

Rose Wise: "These guys really put on a show!"

IndyWiz Dave: “Cern IS ‘Secret Pagan Man’!”

And you will be raving about him, too.  Make your plans now to see the Greenman and the Muse in concert.

Biography

A consummate storyteller, long-time professional speaker and dedicated musician, Cernowain Greenman combines all these talents into a masterful experience of story and song for Pagans of all ages.

“Cern” has been telling stories, tall tales and whoppers since he was a wee babe fresh from the birth canal, or maybe just a little bit later than that.  He sharpened his oratory skills at summer camp and later through professional public speaking.

C.G. (as some bacchantes have monikered him) has had a colorful musical history. He began to play guitar at the not-so-innocent yet tender age of 16, having crawled up into the attic to rescue his father’s collapsing Eko classical guitar with steel strings on them. Duplicating a diversity of sounds from Jim Croce, Del Dick and the Deltones, Slim Whitman and Francisco Tarrega, Cern soon graduated to the hard Rock he heard on Hush Puppy shoe commercials and on albums by Cool and the Gang. In his adult life, he began playing his own songs, such as “Internet Love” and “Road Kill Chili” for church suppers. But his reputation among the Pagan population began with the leading of Bardic Circles and appearances at Filk nights, and also delivering the goods on stage at talent show nights at Pagan Spirit Gathering (PSG).

Our tumultuous troubadour has been quoted in two recent Pagan books. First, in a book by one of the founders of Pagan Pride Day, Dagonet Dewr, by the title of Sacred Paths for Modern Men concerning the sardonic disposition of the God Pan.  He was also extensively interviewed because of his meandering spiritual journey by Joyce and River Higginbotham, the authors of Christopaganism: An Inclusive Path.

Cernowain Greenman teaches workshops on a variety of subjects, including: Pagan Chants, Runes, Interfaith work and Advanced Coven Care for Pagan Clergy. He is known for (and much appreciated for) hosting Cern’s Pagan Songbook Online, which boasts an extensive collection of Pagan songs and chants, and remains the only website with both lyrics and chords for many popular Pagan tunes.

Anaan Sapphira is a "Coven Nurse", Kitchen Witch and Cern's number one Muse. Anaan happens to be a direct descendent of Brigid Bishop, the first woman to be hanged in Salem, MA for the charge of witchcraft in 1692.

Cernowain Greenman resides with Anaan in the hinterlands near Indianapolis, Indiana.
